Scouting is for youth who are 11, or at least 10 years old and have completed the fifth grade or have earned the Cub Scout Arrow of Light Award, through 17 years old. Youth experience a vigorous outdoor program and peer-group leadership with the counsel of an adult Scoutmaster to achieve the BSA’s objectives of developing character, citizenship, and personal fitness. Our troop does activities like camping, backpacking, rifle shooting, rappelling, swimming, and more!
We recommend that you visit one of our regular Troop meetings. You may also consider joining us on one of our weekend camping trips. This will allow you to get to know the scouts of our troop and your parents will get to know other troop parents.
Scout Troop 282 is looking for youth with a sense of adventure and fun to join us. Our Troop is sponsored by the St. Louis Park MN Lions Club and meets at Spirit of Christ Community Lutheran Church on Monday nights from 7:00 to 8:30 PM during the school year. To find out more about Scout Troop 282, please contact us.
A typical meeting includes the following:
- Pre-meeting Scout Game
- Opening and Announcements
- Scout planned activity
- Scout Board of Reviews, Scoutmaster Conferences
- Patrol Planning Meetings
- Work on Scout Skills or Merit Badge work
- Preparation for next camp out
- Scoutmaster’s Minute and Closing
