Troop 282 Christmas Tree Lot Info

Scout Troop 282 has joined with B&J Evergreen to sell Christmas trees.

The tree lot is in the parking lot of Louisiana Oaks Park on the corner of Louisiana Avenue and Walker Street in St. Louis Park. The lot will be open
9 a.m. to 9 p.m. daily. Scouts will assist 5:15-8:15 p.m. Tuesdays through Fridays, 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. Saturdays and 10:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. Sundays.

For decades, the troop has operated its own Christmas tree lot to raise money for camping fees, equipment and other expenses that would otherwise need to be paid by the scouts’ parents or the troop through scholarships.

B&J Evergreen has operated a lot a few blocks away from Troop 282’s lot. When B&J Evergreen lost its long-time Knollwood lot location, its representatives contacted the troop to establish a partnership.

Scouts and parents will assist during the busiest shifts while B&J employees will staff the lot during all hours of operation. Scouts who assist can earn a forestry merit badge and visit the company’s tree farm in Clear Lake, MN.

“Although in essence all duties remain the same as in years past, this year’s lot is much larger for the scouts and they have been kept quite busy,” said Kristi Johnson, committee chair of the troop.
